Obituary

Karen Beth Green Gilbert was born in Billings, Montana, on March 14, 1941, and died on June 28, 2024. at the Niobrara Community Hospital in Lusk.. She was the middle child of Clarence Clark Green and Opal Elizabeth Hatheway Green.

She was raised in Pryor, Montana, where she attended grade school and then bussed 20 miles to Edgar, Montana, for four years of high school, graduating in 1959. She was the homecoming queen her senior year.

After graduation Beth married Bob Humiston on 6-12-1959. To this union Robin, Darrell, and Jimmy were born. Later she married Jim Gilbert and worked for a cleaning company. She cleaned offices and homes in Tennessee and in several different cities in Oregon. She was excellent at her trade.

Beth moved to Lusk in 2002 and cared for her mom for three and a half years. She fell in love with Lusk. She continued her cleaning trade and met many people, and became friends with all. Then she met Eldon Alexander, Happiness! They shared nine wonderful years together; his children, Jason and Heidi Alexander, treated her like family. Beth found the best neighbors in Ole and Patti Sigvartsen. They took care of all of her needs. Patti would bring Beth the best homemade meals ever. Beth loved filling her time with travel, dog races, playing pitch, cribbage, and gambling in Prairie Winds, Deadwood, and Torrington. After Eldon's death she met her very best friend ever, Rachele Lamb Hall. Rachele took great care of Beth. They shared many meals together and attended every pitch tournament in Niobrara County. When Beth became ill, Rachele didn't miss a beat or a doctor's appointment. She had everything scheduled and knew all of her doctors to the point that the doctors called her with information.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents and baby son Darrell. She is survived by daughter Robin Seely and son Jimmy Humiston (Stacy), Brother James C Green (Michele), sister C. Lynn Rising, and many nieces and nephews.
