Charles Leland Jones, 84, of Gordon, Nebraska passed away June 3, 2025.  He was born on June 20, 1940, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to John Leland Jones and Mary Cecil Boucher. Charles graduated from Ardmore High School in 1958.  He received a Bachelor of Education degree continuing on to a Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado.  He married Barbara Sue Goodell in 1960 and had four children.

He entered the Air Force and served four years after which he was honorably discharged.

Charles spent his life serving the Lord as a minister in several churches in New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma.

His wife of 50 years, Barbara, passed away in 2011.  He later married Peggy Link on December 8, 2013.

Charles is survived by his wife Peggy, his children David (Shawn) of Ferndale, Washington, Allan (Kathleen) of Beaufort, South Carolina, Katherine Middleton of Bridgeport, Nebraska, and Karen (Loren) Moench of Gering, Nebraska, and his sister JoAnn McDuffie of Houston, Texas.

He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, several stepchildren, one sister-in-law Shirley Koehler of Treynor, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara and one granddaughter, Alyson Jones.

A Memorial service will be held at Wellspring Chapel in Gordon, Nebraska on June 9th, 2025, at 2:00 PM.  A private burial will be held later at Westlawn Cemetery in Gering, NE.
