Colt Marshall Gray was called home by his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2026. A celebration of Colt's life will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Harrison Bible Church in Harrison, Nebraska. Interment will follow with full military honors at the Harrison Cemetery. A Family gathering for all of Colt's friends to share memories will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday at Gray's Sale Barn in Harrison, Nebraska. All friends are welcome to join for fellowship and share memories. 

Colt was born November 1, 1986, and from the beginning was striving for excellence and pressing forward. He grew up loving horses, cattle, and ranch life. Chores, calving, haying, or anything else he was big and strong enough to do, he was doing for the Lord with all his might. Showing cattle, 4-H, Civil Air Patrol, Youth Group, Wildfire Fighter, Hunting Guide, Marine Corps, and hunting with his Grandpa Allan led to many adventurous trips throughout the US, to New Zealand, and training in Africa to smuggle Bibles into China with Vision Beyond Borders.

He loved the Lord and others passionately. Studying his Bible and listening to Christian radio programs encouraged him in his daily walk, giving him strength, comfort, and peace. Growing up, Sunday School, Church, AWANA, Kids Club, VBS, and Rodeo Bible Camp brought him great joy.

He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 2007 through 2013, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was respected by his Marine brothers with whom he served as a Fire Support Man and Forward Observer for the Artillery Unit, Quebec Battery 5/14 based at Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colorado. He was known as a hard charger, dedicated to his job. His fellow Marines knew they could depend on him whether it was to shoot rounds on target or just for a good laugh. Semper-Fi!

Colt met Riyatta Frye and soon found they had much in common. He felt the Lord's leading to get married, and they were united May 11, 2018. They loved ranching and soon began to build their own ranch in Goshen County, Wyoming. Colt loved to work with his hands, and they rebuilt an abandoned house, turning it into a wonderful home. Three beautiful daughters were born to them. Colt was a dedicated, loving father who adored his family. Next to his love for the Lord, his family was his top priority. Family, friends, and neighbors knew they could count on his politeness, respect, quietness, resourcefulness, servant heart, and that he would always bring pleasure in accomplishment.

Colt is survived by his cherished wife, Riyatta Gray, and three treasured daughters, Keirra-6, Alonna-4, and Wravenna-2. Parents Rodney and Laura Gray-Harrison, NE. Siblings Naomi (Jeff) Pelster- Harrison, NE; Levi (Sarah) Gray-Torrington, WY; Heath (Kelsey) Gray-Harrison, NE; Garret Gray-Harrison, NE. Grandmother Bette Nygren-Brewster, NE; many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins; precious nephews and nieces; and adopted Grandfather Wayne Palm-Rice Lake, WI.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce Gray, Wayne Gray, and Allan Nygren.
