Obituary

Floyd A. Tschacher, 80, died peacefully Friday, April 13, 2018 in Boise, Idaho after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Floyd was born May 27, 1937 to Lewis and Erma (Parmely) Tschacher in Twin Falls, ID. The family relocated to Niobrara County in 1948, eventually settling on a ranch in Lusk near the Rawhide Buttes. Floyd graduated from Lusk High School in 1955 where he met the love of his life Donna Kay Sides. He enlisted in the United States Army upon graduating. Floyd and Donna Kay were married April 14, 1956 upon Floyd's return from Basic Training.

The Army would take them overseas to Landstuhl, Germany, where their family expanded to include a son and a daughter. For eight years they tent camped every summer and took in as much of Europe as possible.

After returning to the states in 1966, Floyd, Donna and the kidsresettled again in Lusk, to be closer to extended family while Floyd served two tours in Vietnam. He was then stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO until his retirement as an E8 1st Sergeant in 1979. The pair packed up their Airstream trailer and headed West.

While visiting Boise, ID they decide toset uppermanent residence there. For the better part of two decades, Floyd worked for the Social Security Administration. Upon he and Donna's2nd retirement, they sold the house lock, stock and barrel and hit the road intheir belovedAirstreammotor home. Traveling full time, Floyd and Donnaexploredall 50 states, crossed Canada 3 times and visited Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Alaska twice.The paircelebrated 50 yearsof marriage with a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands.After more than a decade of travel, they returned to Boise to build their dream home in 2010.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Donna Kay Sides Tschacher. She stayed steadfastly by his side for one day shy of 62 years of marriage. Additionally, he is survived by their son, Randy Tschacher and wife Patricia, of Abilene, TX and their daughter, Tamee Tschacher Young, of Satanta, KS.

Floyd and Donna have 5 grandchildren: Dawn McDaniel; Ryan Young and wife Ciana;Brandon Tschacher and wife Samantha; Aubree Young and fiancé JoeVargas; andAllee Young and fiancé Trey Wooten III. They also have 2 great-grandchildren: Briston Young and Haylee Young; as well as an honorary granddaughter: Kristin Standley, husband Devon and children Lydia and Evelyn.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Clifford Cox, brother Darell Tschacher and brother-in-law Patrick Miller.

The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff of Willow Park Senior Living and Memory Care for their outstanding support and guidance over these last months as well as Hospice of Boise for providing great comfort and warmth.

Funeral Services are provided by Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, WY.

Viewing will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 12 pm at Pier Funeral Home,with graveside services at Lusk Cemetery at 1pm. Lunch to follow at the Elks Lodge.
