Robert Emerson Buckley
A Funeral Mass for Robert Emerson Buckley, 88, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford, Nebraska.
Robert passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, at 12:43 a.m. at the Ponderosa Villa in Crawford. He was born on September 22, 1928, on the Buckley Ranch.
He was raised on the Buckley Ranch in southern Sioux County, Nebraska. Later he joined the Air Force on September 15, 1950, and was discharged on July 26, 1954. He married Leona (Pat) McCoy on December 13, 1954.
He worked numerous jobs but the main job that he loved was working on water wells. He worked for Dick Herren in Harrison, Nebraska at Herren Brother's Water Wells.
He is survived by his daughter, Rose Buckley, husband Mike; son, Robert A. Buckley, wife La Donna; brother, Marvin (Tuck) Buckley; sisters-in-law Phyllis Buckley, Sandy Buckley, Dixie (Les) Northcott; brother-in-law, Elton McCoy, wife Dee; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Leona (Pat) McCoy Buckley; mother and father-in-law, Lula (Morava) McCoy and LeRoy McCoy; a son that was stillborn at birth; his father, Roy Buckley, mother, Ople (Case) Buckley; brothers, William, who was stillborn, Buster (Jewel), Ivol, Dale, (Bud), one sister, Ila Mae (Buckley) Bannan; sisters-in-law, Joy (Adams) and Margaret (Margie Sternhagen) Buckley; and one brother-in-law, Laurence Bannan.
He will be greatly missed by one and all.
